based on the wing planform I’d say that’s a Hurricane not a Spitfire. Great photo Bill. Those look like the stands we used for Red Baron. I wonder who’s game that is.
Good catch, you are correct and I was going to change it to “hurricane” but was tired, forgot and just hit “post” I’ll change it now. The game was put on by the air force guys at Wheeler AFB. Yep I was tired and just remembered which base we played at. I had been to almost every one while working over there. I was cool we had a large room at the base library. As you drove in you passed a P40 Warhawk they had kept from the filming of Tora, Tora, Tora, on display. Right across the road from the library was were the washed the Helicopters and the building next door still had Japanese machine gun bullet marks from the strafing during the Perl Harbor attack. While I was there the famous Japanese Zero Ace Saburo Saki was a guest at the base but not being in the military I couldn’t go to the event. Funny how years later former combatants share a common bond and respect!
