World War Two has always been one of my favorite periods and in fact the first one for me to game in as a “Historical Wargamer” back then the scale was 20mm or in modeling terms 1/72 scale. 20mm was because that was the matching scale for 1/72 -1/76 scale plastic kit vehicles that were readily available in the model building world. Now days 20mm has lost popularity due to the rise of “Flames of War” and the resulting 15mm scale its played in. Many of still like the larger scale and have large collections we just are not going to re-do!
An old “”80’s” ESCI 1/72 scale kit. This is a SDKFZ 250/10 command vehicle in spray mid was camouflage depicting an “Grossduetchland” vehicle in Russia 1943
FAA early SS figures, you cant beat 20mm for good detail without the expense and work of 28mm.
I think an FAA figure, Iwo Jima Marine that I added a captured flag too.
Great picture from one of our Island game. US marines sitting on top of a downed “Jap” Zero. The terrain piece is cast resin, made by me and for sale in my small for sale section.
