This powerful new tool for “surfing” through the sites pictures is going to replace the “Painted Pile” page and do a much better job! It allows me to simply tag or categorize pictures and you to set the search criteria to your particular interest. This does not replace the “post” search tags and categories found on the Home pages right column but uses those same tags and columns to sort the sites pictures.Tags are basic groupings of pictures with a common bond, say 15mm or 28mm and will pull up ALL those related “tagged” items. Categories are more related to subjects such as Darkest Africa or SAGA and will pull up many different pictures related to the subject category.\u00a0 When viewed in the “itemized” format the pictures will have links to the parent post they appeared in and largely replace the “archives” since people rarely want to look through years of post to find something their interested in.<\/p>\n

View by “Gallery” (smaller pictures) but more on the page, or “Itemized” (larger pictures) that ALSO gives you a link to the post or article it appears in! Very handy! (I should have this view set by default, but you can select it or change it.)<\/p>\n

At the bottom of each set of picture you get a NEXT button to go on to the next group of pictures for that search.<\/span><\/p>\n

Using the more detailed selections or combinations of selections can help tailor your search. “HINT” fewer selections gives more and broader results, more selections may help to limit or hone in on a set of pictures but may eliminate some pictures that don’t meet all the selection criteria.<\/p>\n

This is a new feature and it will be a while before I get all the pictures tagged or categorized.<\/p>\n
